James Marvin Ramsay, age 78, of St. Martin, passed away on Tuesday, February 1, 2022.
Mr. Ramsay was a native of Biloxi. He attended St. Martin High School and was a graduate in the class of 1961. Marvin retired from Chevron and from Jackson County Road Department. He received numerous awards and recognitions for his coaching and the overall support of the St. Martin youth baseball and softball programs. Marvin loved to watch anything sports especially the St. Louis Cardinals baseball and NASCAR.
Marvin was preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, Mable Webb Ramsay; his father, Elliot Noble Ramsay; his mother, Catherine Ryan Ramsay; his brother, Elliot Joseph Ramsay; and his sister, Roberta Ramsay Tonner.
Marvin is survived by his children, Cheryl Ramsay Noble (Johnny), and James Douglas Ramsay (Denise); his sister, Beverly Ramsay Glass; his grandchildren, Jeremiah “JJ” Noble, Miranda Ramsay Hedman (Jeremy), and Melissa Ramsay Babin (Bryan); his great grandchildren, Breighanna Noble, Jeremiah Noble, Mason Hedman, and Madelyn Hedman.
The family would like to thank the staff of Lemoyne Place for the care they gave our loved one for the last eight years. We would also like to thank family and friends who visited him during this time.
A visitation will be held on Monday, February 7, 2022 from 10:00 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. funeral service at The Riemann Family Funeral Home, 13872 Lemoyne Blvd. in West Jackson County. Burial will follow in Gulf Hills Cemetery.
