Mr. James E. """"Eddie"""" Quigley, Jr., age 72, lifelong resident of Gulfport, died on Wednesday, July 25, 2007, in Biloxi.
Eddie graduated from Gulfport High School in 1953, and he spent 22 years as an employee of the The Daily Herald, now The SunHerald, in Circulation Sales, and spent more than 25 years as an employee of Gulf Coast News Company, now Anderson News Company, in marketing and sales. He was of the Catholic faith.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James """"Jimmy"""" Quigley, Sr. and Clara Bell May Quigley Crawley; a brother, Wayne Joseph Quigley; and his former wife, Louanne Quigley.
Survivors include his wife Dorothy """"Dottie"""" Spence Simpson Quigley; his daughter, Marla Quigley Ellis and her husband Steve; his two sons, Mike Quigley and his wife Colette, and Richard Quigley; a stepdaughter, Linda Simpson Taylor and her husband Mike; eight grandchildren, Scott Taylor and his wife Laura, Shannon Taylor, Jesse Ellis, Jaime Ellis, Colette Marissa Quigley, Anthony """"Tony"""" Quigley, David Quigley, and Andrew """"Andy"""" Quigley, and one great grandchild, Braden Taylor; his two sisters, Nancy Annette Quigley Hilby, and her husband Joe of Perkinston, and Janice May Quigley Bowen and her husband Robert """"Red"""" of Tennessee; many nephews and nieces; and his loyal and beloved pet, """"Penny-Poo.""""
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 28, 2007, at the RIEMANN FAMILY'S Gulf Coast Funeral Home, 11280 Three Rivers Road, Gulfport, at 1:00 p.m. Friends may call an hour prior to services at the funeral home. Entombment will be at Floral Hills Cemetery in the Chapel Mausoleum.
Pallbearers will include Frank Farner, George Charles, Steve Dickson, Mike Quigley, Anthony Quigley, Jesse Ellis, Steve Ellis.
