James T. """"Jim"""" Powers, age 50, resident of Saucier, died, Tuesday, October 16, 2007 in Pensacola, FL.
Mr. Powers was born in Little Rock, Arkansas an was a resident of the coast for 30 years. He worked for the Port Authority for 18 years and had the opportunity to meet President Clinton in Atlanta at Union conference in 1993. He enjoyed fishing, bowling, pool and square dancing.
Mr. Powers was preceded in death by his parents, John Patrick Powers, Jr. and Elaine Gloria Sisk Powers. He is survived by his wife, Elaine Powers of Saucier; a daughter, Jennifer Wilson and husband Steve of Pace, FL; a son, James T. Powers, Jr. of Gulfport; stepdaughters; Crystal McAlpin and husband Chad of D'Iberville and Tiffany Corser and husband Mat of Pascagoula; step son, Josh Woods and wife Kimberly of D'Iberville; three siblings, Mike Powers and wife Diane of Little Rock, Arkansas, Kathy Powers of Little Rock, Arkansas and David Powers and wife Sue of Virginia; ten grandchildren.
Visitation will be Friday, October 19, 2007 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11213 Hwy. 49 North, Gulfport. Services will be Saturday, October 20, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow at Rouse Cemetery.
