We mourn the loss of James Wallace Noble, Sr. of Long Beach, MS, a self-made man of humble beginnings, on July 28, 2021. He spent 20 years working as captain of crew boats. His work ethic and love of the sea were ever present. He also traveled many miles behind the wheel of an 18 wheeler.
He was preceded in death by siblings, Norman Daniel "Dan" Noble, Ester Bernice Noble Funk, and Willie Mae Bane; his parents, Norman Westley Noble and Martha Williams Thompson; his stepson, James W "Jim" Craig, Jr. (Lisa) Durant OK; and his step grandson, Cory Brewer, Spartanburg, SC.
He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Shirley Meyers Noble. His blended family consists of children, Dianne Noble Borzik (David) Wiggins, MS, James Wallace "Wally" Noble, Jr. (Susan) Saucier, MS, Joyce Holley (David) Salado, TX, Teresa Nordan (Garry) Franklinville, NC, Roy Wayne Craig (Sherry) Sevierville, TN; his two brothers, John Kelly Noble (Sida) Theodore, AL and Charles Williams "Bill" Noble (Delores) Gulfport, MS; his two sisters, Norma Jean Moore and Hattie Mae Moran of Gulfport, MS. He was the proud grandfather of 15 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren. He is lovingly called Uncle James by numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends are invited to join the family for visitation and services on Sunday, August 1st at Riemann Family Funeral Home, 19130 Commission Road, Long Beach, MS. Visitation will be held from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m., with the Service at 2:00 p.m.
Mr. Noble will be laid to rest in a private family ceremony at Evergreen Cemetery.
While the captain faced perils on land and sea, we have faith that favorable winds and calm seas are gracefully carrying him to his heavenly home. Rest in peace good and faithful servant.
