Mr. James E. ""Bubba"" Ladner, age 68, resident of Saucier, passed away on Wednesday, October 6, 2010.
Mr. Ladner was born to Houston and Helen Ladner in 1942. He resided in Saucier for over 50 years and was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Dedeaux. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 9958 (St. Ann's). He served in the United States Navy for two years and twenty years in the Merchant Marines, where he served during Hurricane Camille in the mouth of the MS River and in South America during the oil spill in Brazil in the 70's. Bubba had many friends that he enjoyed fishing with and cooking for. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother; sister, Geraldine Archery; and grandson, Chad Lee.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Mary E. ""Maggie"" Ladner; children, Edward, Charles (Jenny), Timothy (Joann), Kevin (Devin), Marlow (Valerie), Shane (Meg), and Kelle (Floyd); brother, Bobby Ladner; grandchildren, Karrie, Derrick, Ross, Floyd, Jr., Juanita, Olivia, Conner, LeAnn, Kryston, and Sara; great grandchildren, Caleb, Tiffany, Ellis, Jayden, and an expected great granddaughter.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, October 9, 2010, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Dedeaux, at 1:30 p.m. Friends are invited to visit two hours prior to service.
Burial will follow at Ladner Cemetery, Esther Rd., Saucier.
RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11280 Three Rivers Rd., Gulfport, is in charge of arrangements.
