James Lonzo Kittrell

James Lonzo Kittrell, age 82, of Saucier, MS passed away on Thursday, January 16, 2025, at Lakeview Nursing Center in Gulfport. MS. He was born September 27, 1942, in New Augusta, MS. Preceding him in death were his father Alonzo Kittrell, his mother Wilma Beard Kittrell, and a nephew Matthew Boutwell, all who were from Petal, MS.

 James leaves his cherished memories to his spouse of 60 years, Linda Kittrell, of Saucier, MS; daughter Stephanie Kittrell Purvis (Brennan) of Midland, TX; daughter Connie Kittrell of Gulfport, MS; sister Faye Kittrell Boutwell (Harry) of Petal, MS; granddaughter Karah Purvis of Midland, TX; along with several nieces, nephews, and other extended family members. James was a graduate of Hattiesburg High School, with additional education at Drones Business College in Jackson, MS. 

He worked at Citizens Bank in Hattiesburg, MS, CE Natco in Gulfport, MS and later for the United States postal service where he retired as a letter carrier. In his spare time his hobbies included reading and doing woodworking. He was a member of the National Association of Letter Carriers and a charter member of Robinwood Baptist Church in Saucier, MS. 

The family will receive friends 10:00 – 11:00 am Saturday January 25, 2025, at Robinwood Baptist Church in Saucier, MS. Funeral services will follow the visitation at 11:00 am at the church. Interment will be 2:30 pm at Glendale Cemetery in Hattiesburg, MS. 

The family wishes to thank all the staff at Lakeview Nursing Center in Gulfport, MS for their excellent care of James. Their loving concern has been a blessing to our family. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions to Robinwood Baptist Church Building Fund or Mission Dignity of the Mississippi Baptist Convention Board.
