James Irvin Williams, age 74, passed away on August 10, 2020.
He was a resident of Gulfport, MS, previously of Panama City Beach, FL, Ponte Vedra Beach, FL, and Jackson, MS.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James Woodrow Williams and Iris Miles Williams; brother in law, Thomas Mead; and some of his cousins, and life-long friends.
He is survived by his sister, Olivia Mead; nieces, Lindsay (Chris) Fields and Tara Power; grand-nephews, Jackson Fields, Eli Fields, and Logan Fields; and cousins, and life-long friends.
James graduated from Provine High School in 1964, in Jackson, MS and attended and graduated from Millsaps College in Jackson, MS from 1964-1968. He was a member of the Kappa Alpha fraternity. Upon graduation, he began teaching math at Biloxi High where he first discovered his love for teaching. He was recruited to join the sales team of The Rogue…where he put his excellent people skills to use. After several years in the retail fashion industry, he discovered an interest in real estate, an industry he had continued in for the past 45 years.
James had many interest along the way, but none more important to him than his friends and his dogs. He had a heart the size of the Grand Canyon and his loss is being felt across the states of MS, FL, and beyond.
