James Raymond Hodges, age 92, and a resident of Gulfport, died Monday, March 1, 2010 in Biloxi.
Mr. Hodges was a long time resident of the Mississippi Gulf Coast, and a member of Handsboro Baptist Church. He played college basketball at Delta State University, and was a long time teacher, coach, and Administrator in public education. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army.
Mr. Hodges was preceded in death by his parents, Cove Lee and Martha Etheridge Hodges; his wife, Oneida Quinn Hodges; seven brothers; and two sisters.
He is survived by his children: James Stephen Hodges of Gulfport, Alec Stuart Hodges of Baton Rouge, LA, Sylvia Lee Hodges of Biloxi, and Stacey Cove Hodges of Vancleave; and six grandchildren.
Friends are invited to visit on Thursday, March 4, 2010 from 11:30 a.m. until the Funeral Service at 12:30 p.m. at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 274 Beauvoir Road, Biloxi. Interment will follow at Southern Memorial Park.
