James Hinson, 75, of Woolmarket died Monday, June 12, 2006 in Woolmarket.
Mr. Hinson was a natie of Marengo County, AL and was a resident of the coast since 1951. He retired in 1973 as a nursing assistant from the VA Hospital. Mr. Hinson served in the U.S. Army, 25th Infantry Combat Unit, 14th Regiment during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of Woolmarket Baptist Church and he enjoyed visiting and talking with others. One of his favorite activities was mullet fishing with a cane pole.
He was preceded in death by his parents, A.C. and Irene Etheridge Hinson, a sister, Karen Martin, and a niece, Suzanne Poirier.
Survivors include his wife, Mildred Hinson; 2 sons: Gary Hinson and his wife Cynthia and Steve Hinson and his wife Patricia """"Tritter"""" all of Woolmarket; 2 sisters: Dorie Griffin, Cleveland, MS and Joyce Poirier, Houston, TX; 4 grandchildren: Michelle Hinson, Jeremy Hinson, Jaimie Hinson, and Tiffany Spann; and 4 great-grandchildren: Ethan Hinson, Destanie Daniel, Alyssa Daniel, and Aliviah Spann.
The funeral service will be at 1:00 pm Thursday, June 15, 2006 at Gulf Coast Funeral Homes, Inc., Three Rivers Road Chapel, Gulfport. Friends may visit from 12 noon until service time at 1:00 pm.
Interment will be in Biloxi National Cemetery.
