James E. """"Eddie"""" Dykes, age 64, a resident of Gulfport passed away Friday, February 08, 2008 in Jackson, MS.
Mr. Dykes was a good man who always had a joke and enjoyed fishing. He worked in construction most of his life until he lost his sight.
He is preceded in death by his father Curtis J. Dykes, and his daughter Linda Elizabeth Dykes Recore.
Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Mary N. Dykes of Gulfport; his mother Vrsla Lynda Odom of Orange Grove; his children, Rhonda E. Landry of Gulfport, Mary L. Butler and her husband Sammy of Saucier, James E. Dykes and his wife Rose of Gulfport, and Troy D. Dykes and his wife Kristen of Poplarville; his siblings, Elvin Dykes, Ernie Dykes, Curtis Dykes, Bobby Dykes, Vernon Odom and Betty Ferrell; his brother-in-law, Dan Brock; 13 grandchildren Joshua Redd, Amanda Redd, Brooke Redd, Austin Landry, B.J. Butler, Sidney Butler, Daniel Burrus, Shawn Dykes, Tiffany Dykes, Megan Dykes, Randy Recore, Rachel Recore, and Addison All; 2 great grandchildren, Jailyn """"Angel"""" Redd and Madison Lawrence; and his cat Rascal.
Memorial services will be held Monday, February 11, 2008 at the RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11280 Three Rivers Rd. Chapel, at 7:00 p.m. with visitation starting two hours prior to services.
The family prefers memorial contributions to be made to them.
