Mr. James Patrick """"Pat"""" Douglas, age 52, resident of Gulfport, passed away in Gulfport.
Mr. Douglas was a native of Chicago, IL and longtime resident of the Coast. Known to many friends and coworkers as Captain Jim, he piloted crew boats in the waters off of South Louisiana, where he was truly """"at home."""" He was a devoted son and brother in a very close family, and he was deeply loved and will be greatly missed.
Mr. Douglas was preceded in death by his father, Herbert Frank Douglas and his brother, John Walter Douglas.
He is survived by his mother, Zelma Douglas of Gulfport; siblings, Diana Douglas of Gulfport, Michael Lee Douglas of Colorado, and Sandy Douglas Richards (Leroy) of Gulfport; nieces and nephews; and two canine companions, Duke and Lil' Bit.
Graveside services will be held on Thursday, December 6, 2007, at 2:00 p.m. at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens in Gulfport.
In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials to the Muscular Dystrophy Association, P. O. Box 78960, Phoenix, AZ 85062-8960.
