James 'Terry' Deakle, age 64, of Gulfport, passed away on January 27, 2009 in Gulfport.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ollie Deakle and Mary Deakle.
He is survived by his wife and best friend of 26 years, Toni Deakle, of Gulfport; his siblings, June Venable (Bob) of Georgetown, TX, Ralph Deakle (Janice) of Gulfport, Kay Chapman of Mobile, AL, Angela Mitchell (Bill) and John Deakle (Barbara), both of Gulfport. He was a loving uncle of several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Born in Mobile, AL, he served in the U.S. Navy for two years. A football fanatic, he loved college and NFL football and was a loyal New Orleans Saints fan. He enjoyed reading, gardening, and fishing. He loved his pets and the waters of the Gulf of Mexico.
Memorials may be given to: Humane Society of South Mississippi, 2615 Hwy 49, Gulfport, MS 39501.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on Friday, January 30, 2009 from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM at the RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11213 Hwy 49, Gulfport.
