Mr. James Otha Boxx, age 76, resident of Perkinston, passed away on Saturday, February 26, 2011.
Mr. Boxx was born in Mendenhall, MS to Joseph O. and Mattie Jane Sullivan Boxx. He served
in the U.S. Marine Corp during the Korean War and retired from the U.S. Air Force as a TSGT. He worked as an auxiliary deputy for the Harrison County Sheriff's Department. He loved working in his garden and spending time with family.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Ooyd Joseph Boxx; and grandson, Brandon James Terrell.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Joyce Carol Boxx of Perkinston; children, Corolyn J. Wilson (Glenn) of Saucier, Deidre Carol Davis (Andrew) of Long Beach, Warren Joseph Boxx (Angie) of Gulfport, and Walter John Boxx; grandchildren, Dylan T. Everett, Dustin Boggs (Joy); great grandson, Tanner Boggs; sister, Joanne Albright of Norwalk, OH; and brother, Edward Boxx of Knoxville, TN.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 1, 2011, at 1:30 pm at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11280 Three Rivers Road, Gulfport. Friends are invited to visit one hour prior to services.
Burial with full military honors will follow at Biloxi National Cemetery.
