James A. Bond, age 84, of Gulfport, passed away on Wednesday, June 12, 2013, in Gulfport.
Mr. Bond was in the paving industry for over 50 years and was the owner and operator of Bond Paving Company since. His passion for his work caused him to be known as a ""workaholic."" Outside of work responsibilities, Mr. Bond enjoyed many years of playing tennis at Bayou Bluff Tennis Club, as well as other outdoor activities. Those activities include planting and harvesting his garden and fishing.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence R. and Isabelle Bond; brothers, Rowan A. Bond, Joel Bond, and Roy Bond; and his sister, Eunice Rogers.
He is survived by his wife, Julie West Bond of Gulfport; his children, Jan Clifton (Ted), Wanda Rose , Jamie Sue Payne, Jay Bond (Kimberly); his grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; devoted employee of Bond Paving Co., Betty Thrash; and his canine companion, Captain Marvel; as well as many other friends.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 14, 2013, at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11280 Three Rivers Road, Gulfport, at 2:00 p.m. Visitation will be held from 12:30 p.m. until service time.
Burial will follow at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens, Gulfport.
