Jacquelyn Hope Chapman, age 62 and a resident of Long Beach, died on Saturday, January 9, 2010, in Gulfport.
Mrs. Chapman had been a midwife for the past 30 years, and at the time of her death, she was a nurse practitioner and co-owner of the Gulfport Internal Care on Highway 49 North in Gulfport. She committed her life to giving of herself to others. She lived life to the fullest.
Mrs. Chapman is preceded in death by her father, Maurice Wurth. She is survived by her husband, Cmdr. John Chapman, US Navy Retired, of Long Beach; her children, Keely Hope of Ohio and Alex Hope of Centreville, MS; her mother, Agnes Maynor of Illinois and her brother, Gordon Wurth of Illinois.
A time of gathering for family and friends will be held on Thursday, January 14, 2010, from 6pm-7pm at the Riemann Family Funeral Home, 19130 Commission Road in Long Beach.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, January 17, 2010, at 3:00pm at the Centreville Baptist Church, 325 West Main Street, Centreville, MS 39631.
The family requests that memorial contributions be made to Mississippi Public Broadcasting, National Public Radio, 3825 Ridgewood Road, Jackson, MS 39211.
