Jacqueline Ramirez

Jacqueline Stein Ramirez, age 80, passed away Monday, December 23, 2019 at Woodland Village.

She was a native of Baton Rouge, Louisiana and a resident of Diamondhead, Mississippi. She graduated from Istrouma High School in Baton Rouge, where she served as one of the editors for her yearbook, the Pow Wow. During her lifetime, she worked in several areas. She started as a beautician, then enjoyed being a housewife and loving mother, and ended with a career in nursing after she had obtained a nursing degree.

Her biggest joy was spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, as well as her friends.

Jackie was a member of GPAC (Greater Picayune Arts Council), Brandy’s Hope and Grammy Cats. She was a volunteer for hospice and in her retirement, she was an avid gardener, loved sewing and crafts of any kind.

Jackie was a very giving and caring lady who was happiest when she could help others. She always had a smile, a heart for encouraging others, a kind word, and looked at the bright side of everything. She loved life and will be greatly missed by everyone who knew and loved her. During her final years, she resided at Woodland Village Nursing Home where she enjoyed ceramics, fishing and developed lasting friendships with the other residents and staff.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to the people of Woodland Village for their love and support and awesome care you gave our mom. She loved each of you.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Frederic and Almeda Stein.

Survivors include her children, Dara Downs (Scott) and Lloyd Ramirez (Jenny); her grandchildren, Eric Ramirez (Trisha), Jimmy Cummins (Casey), Kristi Friga (Corey), Devon Ramirez, A.J. Seabaugh (Amanda), Hannah McDermott (James) and Kaiti Cummins; and her great-grandchildren, Miles, Logan & Lauren Ramirez, Eli & Gannon Friga, Dakota Ramirez and Annika McKellips.

Visitation and services will be held on Saturday, December 28, 2019 at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 9113 Kiln Delisle Road, Pass Christian.  Friends may visit from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. and the service will follow at 11:00 a.m.
