Isabelle Estella Smith Sparks, age 97, of Ocean Springs, MS, died Sunday, March 21, 2010 in Ocean Springs.
Mrs. Sparks was born to Stanley B. and Ida Estella Wilson Smith in Marietta, OH. She was a Coast resident for over 60 years, moving from Belleville, IL when her husband went to work at Keesler Air Force Base as an instructor. Mrs. Sparks was a school teacher, and will be remembered for making a difference in the lives of countless children through her love of poetry and reading.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert L. Sparks; son, Robert H. Sparks; brothers, Hugh Smith and John Smith, and grandson, Robbie Sparks.
She is survived by her daughter, Kathryn Saunders, and husband Robert, of Middleburg, FL; daughter-in-law, Pamela Sparks of Ocean Springs; sister-in-law, Mary Smith of Coshocton, OH; grandchildren, Lynda S. Hill, Robert Lawson, Ashley Sparks, and Keri Sparks Jones; and great-grandchildren: Bethany Hill, Lilliana Sparks, and expected great-grandson, Brighton Joseph Jones.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., March 26, 2010 at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 274 Beauvoir Road, Biloxi, where friends may visit one hour prior. Interment will follow in Southern Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be to the American Cancer Society at www.cancer.org.
