Irene Saucier

Mrs. Jewel Irene Saucier, know to her family and friends as Irene, went to join her Lord and Savior on October 10, 2019 in Ocean Springs after a long illness.
Jewel Irene Smith was born on April 20, 1946, in Saint Francis, AR the fourth child of ten children to the late William Smith, Sr. and her beloved mother Dorothy (Duncan) Smith;  who both preceded in her death as well as her sibling's; William Smith, Jr., Betty Smith and David Smith.
Irene is survived by her loving husband of 42 years, Gary Saucier; those she loved most, David Steward (Jennifer), Donald Steward, and Michael Steward (Jessica); siblings, Melvin Smith, Cathy Smith, George Smith, Christy Burris, Harrold Smith and Debbie Harvey; grandchildren, Alexander Steward and Logan Steward; numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Irene worked throughout her life in several shipyards from Mississippi to Tacoma, Washington in various positions, and was promoted to the U.S. Navy Standards Group when the group was originally formed years ago and as one of the only females was respected by all.  She was also director of engineering over seven departments at Tacoma Boat yard. And was a graduate of styles college some years ago.  She loved almost everything about the outdoors, and most of all loved animals, children and her family.  She will be deeply missed on a daily basis by them all.
A visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday, October 18, 2019 from 1:00 p.m. until the 2:00 p.m. service at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME,  13872 Lemoyne Blvd. at Washington Ave., in West Jackson County.  Interment will follow at Crestlawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Ocean Springs.
