Irene D. Kratzer

Irene D. Kratzer, age 90, of Long Beach, passed away at her home in Long Beach on September 21, 2012.
Irene was born and raised in Honolulu, Hawaii. She lived in Long Beach since 2000 with her daughters. Irene was an unselfish and extraordinary woman who lived her life with courage and strength. She was a devoted and gentle mother to her six children and grandchildren. She was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Long Beach.
She was preceded in death by her sisters, Elsie Howell and Lorraine Dittle and a daughter, Karen Chacon. She is survived by her sons, Erwin (Frances) Kratzer, Jr., David (Josan) Kratzer, 3 daughters, Freida Kaletsch, Linda Washington, and Anne (Mark) Yanagida, grandchildren, Robert Avers, Michael Avers, Mary Boehrer, Susan Griswold, Kim Kempton, Scott Kaletsch, Jennifer Krohn, nephews, Thomas Howell, Clyde Howell, and Gerald Dittle, and numerous great-grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am Friday, September 28, 2012 at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 720 East Beach Blvd., Long Beach, MS 39560. Visitation will be from 9:30 - 10 am.
In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials to St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church.
