Irene Fitzgibbons

Irene Helen Fitzgibbons, age 89, of Gautier, passed away Sunday, January 12, 2020.

Irene was a very loving Christian woman and a very devoted wife. She and her husband Thomas met and married when she was 16 years old and spent nearly 50 years together before his passing in 2000. She loved her cats, especially Callie.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Fitzgibbons; her parents, Frederick and Hortense (Benevides) Meiggs; her siblings, Charles Lamora, Lillian (Lamora) Turillo, Bertha (Lamora) Boucher, Arthur Lamora, and Frederick Meiggs.

She is survived by her nieces, Joyce Lamora Skelton, Patricia Turillo-Palumbo, Lucia Turillo-Roberts, Karen Boucher-Miller, Mary Lamora Darden, Cathy Lamora Smith, and Debora Lamora Hale; and her nephew, Lawrence Bastanzi; and many, many great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 16, 2020, at 2:00pm with a visitation from 1:00 pm until service time, at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 13872 Lemoyne Blvd. at Washington Ave. in  West Jackson County.Interment will follow at Jackson County Memorial Park in Pascagoula.
