Huey Brewer, age 94, of Biloxi, passed away on Friday, October 19, 2018.
Mr. Brewer served in the United States Army for 26 years before his retirement. During his duty, he served during World War II in the as an infantryman in New Guinea, as a Medic in Korea, and as a Medic in Vietnam where he was awarded the Bronze Star.
Following his military career, Mr. Brewer worked for the V.A. Medical System as a nurse and physical therapist for 20 years. After his retirement from the V.A., he enjoyed spending time working on hobbies, such as woodworking and gardening.
He was preceded in death by his wife,Lorene Touchstone Brewer; his parents, Dave Strawbridge and Rosalee Pope Brewer; brothers, Cecil, Carlis, Emmit, Stover, and Doyle Brewer; and sisters, Lottie Choate and Lois Brewer.
He is survived by his children, Patty Sue Brewer, Mitchell R. Brewer (Elise), and Donald R. Brewer (Cindy); sisters, Eva Henderson and Missie Brewer; grandchildren, Stacey Brewer, Rochelle Jessel, Katie Brewer, Amy Franovich, and Casey Brewer; and great grandchildren, Madison Camejo, Arlena Camejo, Landon Franovich, Grayson Franovich, Stone Jessel, Aiden Jessel, and Grant Jessel.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 23, 2018, at 12:30 p.m. at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 274 Beauvoir Road, Biloxi. Visitation will be held one hour prior.
Burial will follow services at Biloxi National Cemetery with military honors to be rendered by the U.S. Army Honor Guard.
