Hoyt E. Salisbury, Jr., age 86, of Pass Christian, died on Wednesday, November 11, 2009, in Gulfport.
Mr. Salisbury was born and reared in Michigan and went to school in Michigan. He graduated from Michigan State University with a Bachelor of Science degree.
He worked in Oklahoma, Maryland and Mississippi. In Maryland and Mississippi he worked as a Geophysicist at the US Naval Oceanographic Office.
His military career was spent in the U.S. Navy in Bremerhaven, Germany.
His Masonic affiliations have been in the Blue Lodge, York Rite, Scottish Rite and Shrine. He is also a Past Patron of the Eastern Star in Maryland.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Geraldine. Hoyt is survived by a son, Stuart Salisbuy and wife, Nita of Mississippi; granddaughter, Ashley Salisbury; and his brother, Keith Salisbury and wife, Beverly of Arkansas.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Sunday, November 15, 2009, at 3:00pm at the Riemann Family Funeral Home, 11280 Three Rivers Road in Gulfport, where friends may visit one hour prior to the service. Burial will take place in Oak Grove Cemetery, Owosso, Michigan, at a later date.
