TSGT Howard Wesley McMickle, USAF, Ret., age 82, of Perkinston, formerly of Gulfport, passed away Friday December 17, 2010.
Mr. McMickle was a native of Troy, IA and he served in the U.S. Navy for 2 years before entering the USAF where he later retired as a TSGT. Following retirement from the USAF, he began work as an Electronics Instructor at KAFB where he retired in 1986. He was a member and past master of Orange Grove Masonic Lodge #635, a 32nd Degree Mason with the Gulfport Scottish Rite, a member of the Gulfport York Rite Bodies, member and past worthy patron of the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 397, and he was a member of Gateway United Methodist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold Lamar and Lena Luke McMickle, and a daughter, Wanda Gill.
Survivors include his loving wife of 49 years, Elizabeth McMickle, daughters, Willene Cox, Rosemary Duncan, Colette Olson, Lori Bertrand, Jennifer McMickle, a son, Harrold McMickle, 2 sisters, Vivian Goodrich, and Vonnie Dalgren, 10 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
The funeral service will be 11 am Monday, December 20, 2010 at the RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11280 Three Rivers Road, Gulfport. Friends may visit from 10 - 11 am
Interment with full military and Masonic Rites will be held at Gulf Pines Memorial Gardens.
The family would like to thank Leslie Bond for her special care, Odyssey Hospice, and Lakeview Nursing Center.
