Howard Lee Hotard, age 82 and a resident of Pass Christian, went to see the Lord on Monday, March 24, 2008 in Pass Christian.
He was born in Berwick, LA and was a resident of the MS Gulf Coast for over 30 years. He was an avid bowler and outdoorsman who also loved to hunt, to ride horses, and to eat seafood. He was also a self-taught master mechanic.
Mr. Hotard was a loving and loyal friend, an attentive father, a Christian man who was loved by all who knew him. He never met anyone he did not like. He was a very proud man who worked very hard everyday to make sure his family wanted for nothing.
Mr. Hotard is preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence Joseph & Christine Ratcliff Hotard; his brothers, Theodore Hotard and Larry Hotard and his sisters, Dorice Hotard Yuratich and Timmy Delaup.
He is survived by his children, Joy Hotard Whitby of Largo, FL, Murray Pitre of Pass Christian, Daniel Hotard of Louisiana, Howard Leo Hotard of Florida, Floyd Meyers of Mississippi, Annette Penn, Susan Theaux, Theresa Pritchett, Jenie Cucinella, and Kathleen Funk all of Louisiana and Irene Penn of Mississippi; his brothers, Darril Hotard, Lawrence Hotard, and Guy Hotard all of Louisiana; his sisters, Delores Hotard of Diamondhead, Kimmy Guisiner, Myrna Lynel and Murt Ray all of Louisiana; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren and his special angel, Ann of Pass Christian.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Mr. Hotard's nurses', Debbie, Cindy, and Mrs. Izza and the rest of the staff at Memorial Hospital Hospice.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on Friday, March 28, 2008 at 2:00pm at THE RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME in Long Beach, where friends may visit one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Alphonse Malley Cemetery.
