Howard Dale Smith, age 75, passed away on Thursday, March 18, 2021, at his home in Gulfport. He was a lifelong resident of the MS Gulf Coast. The family rejoices that years ago he put his trust in his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and is now at home in heaven. Howard was a self-taught man who loved adventure and developed himself into a successful businessman. His mind was never idle and he was always longing for an adventure. He had many venturesome hobbies including scuba diving, deep-sea fishing, snow skiing in the beautiful state of Colorado, hunting, and fishing. Later in life, Howard's eyes went to the sky. He decided to pursue his pilot's license, however, a near accident in the sky caused him to plant his feet back on the ground. An RV was purchased and then he crisscrossed the country traveling as far north as Alaska and The Yukon Territory. As Howard got older, he developed an interest in personal computers, realizing that put the world at his fingertips. He has many friends across the coast and will be truly missed.
Howard was preceded in death by his parents, H.M. Smith and Stella Mae Dedeaux Smith; the love of his life and mother of his two sons, Connie Jo Smith; and nephew, Robert K-H Witt.
Howard is survived by his two sons, Dale Smith and Scott Smith; sisters, Shannon Blackwell (her children, Dean Blackwell, Terry Blackwell, and Trudy Blackwell Goff), JoAnn Witt (Kim Witt), and Sandy Smith(Rick Padilla, and Jason Padilla); brother, Richard Smith (Harvis)(Adam Smith and Joel Smith); grandchildren, Nicholle Smith, and Shauntelle Smith; great-grandchildren, Raelyn Mathis, Addelyn Williams, Lailyn Williams, and October (Tobie) Migues.
A visitation will be held from 10:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, March 27, 2021, at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11280 Three Rivers Road, Gulfport, with a memorial service immediately following at 11:00 A.M. in the funeral home chapel.
