Homer L. McKnight, Sr., 62, of Picayune, formerly of Long Beach, died Sunday, June 24, 2007 in Picayune.
He was a native of Union, MS and lived most of his life on the coast. He retired from the MS Highway Patrol, The Harrison County Sheriff's Department, and Harrison County Buildings and Grounds. He was of the Baptist faith.
He was preceded in death by his father, P.F. McKnight.
Survivors include his wife, Sonya McKnight, Picayune, his mother, Syble McKnight, Long Beach, 2 sons, Homer L. McKnight, Jr. and wife Kelley, Diamondhead, and Jay McKnight and wife Melinda, Lizana, 1 brother, James McKnight and wife Maxine, Chrisman, IL, and 4 grandchildren, Blakeney, Trey, Peyton, and Regan McKnight.
Visitation will be Tuesday, June 26, 2007 from 6 - 8 pm at the RIEMANN FAMILY'S Gulf Coast Funeral Home, Three Rivers Road Chapel, Gulfport. The funeral service will be at 10 am Wednesday in the funeral home chapel.
Entombment will be in Gulf Pines Mausoleum, Long Beach.
Memorials may be sent to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
