Homer "Tom" Johnson

Homer J. ""Tom"" Johnson, age 79, of Long Beach passed away May 6, 2012.
Tom was born in Noxapapter, MS on October 31, 1932. He was a graduate of Long Beach High School and received a Bachelor's Degree from the University of Southern Mississippi. He was married to Ms. Peggy Hover Johnson for 40 years.
Mr. Johnson served his country in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. During his adult life he worked and retired from Prudential Insurance Company with 32 years of service. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Long Beach and was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Long Beach.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Peggy; his son, John W. Johnson; and his brother, Bill Johnson.
He is survived by his son, Tommy Johnson and wife Lynda of Long Beach; grandchildren, Jillian and Jordan Johnson both of Long Beach and Jennifer Williams and her husband Kris of Eufaula, AL. He is also survived by his brother, Jim W. Johnson and his wife Yvonne of Diamondhead; and his sister in law, Margaret Johnson.
Friends are invited to a visitation from 10:00 to 11:00 am, Wednesday, May 9, 2012 at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 19130 Commission Road, Long Beach. The funeral service will begin at 11:00 am in the funeral home chapel. Burial will immediately follow at Gulf Pines Memorial Gardens in Long Beach.
The family would like to give a special thank you to the people and staff at Pass Oaks for their care and compassion.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to First United Methodist Church of Long Beach or ones favorite Charity.
