Homer Clinton Eldridge, Jr. a resident of Bayou La Batre, AL, passed away on November 22, 2019, in Biloxi, Mississippi at the age of 76. On this day the Lord called home a Marine, a son, a brother, a husband, a father, grandfather and friend.
Mr. Eldridge, earned his GED through the Marine Corp, serving as rifleman, cook helper, corporal tech. and received such awards as, National Defense Service Medal, Purple Heart Medal, 1 Gold Star; The Vietnam Service Medal, 4 Bronze Stars, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, Rep. Vietnam Muc Gallantry Cross, Presidential Unit Citation Ribbon, Combat Action Ribbon, Meritorious Unit Commendation Ribbon, Rep. Vietnam Muc Civil Action 5 Medal. He was employed with Ingals Shipyard, was a licensed shrimper, fisherman and oysterman.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Homer Clinton Eldridge, Sr. and Ola May Adams Eldridge; his uncle Gerald Hansford Eldridge; and brothers, William Eli Eldridge, and Dewayne Curtis Eldridge
He is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Mary Ann Eldridge; his children, Anthony Clinton Eldridge, Mary Elizabeth Eldridge, Mary Nadine Eldridge, Markis Anthony Matthew Eldridge; one first cousin, Archie Lowery who raised with him as a brother; his grandchildren, Caleb Clinton Stroud, Gordon Sidney Stroud, Anthony Clinton Eldridge “Lil Tony”; and great –grandchildren, Oliver Clinton Stroud, Alison Elizabeth Stroud.
