Holliman (Joe) Cuevas, age 85, a resident of Kiln, passed away on Tuesday, February 2, 2010 at his home.
Mr. Cuevas was born to the late Albert and Rachel Deschamp Cuevas in 1924. He was a lifelong resident of the Coast. He enjoyed playing cards and going fishing.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his sisters, Elena Head, Elsie Cuevas, Eva Mae Necaise, and Alphonsene Saucier; and four brothers, Oliver, Robert, Horton, and Donivan Cuevas.
He is survived by his wife, Vercie Mae Cuevas of Kiln; his children, Zelma Perkins and her husband, Hayward, Thelma Ladner, and Frankie Cuevas; one sister, Mattie Mae Ladner; two brothers, John Dorty Cuevas and Barney Cuevas; six grandchildren, Connie, Bobby, and Angie Perkins, Robert, Violet, and Robbie Ladner; and six great grandchildren, Kim, Robbie, and Darrin Ladner, and Samantha, Daisy, and Winstonn Moore.
The visitation will held on February 3, 2010 beginning at 11:00 AM at the family residence, 25069 Road 302, Kiln. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, February, 4, 2010 at 1:00 PM at the family residence. Burial will follow at Wolf Creek Cemetery.
