Hilton Mallett

Hilton E. Mallett, age 84, of Gulfport, died on August 10, 2008 in Gulfport.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ella M. Mallett; his parents, Simon Peter Mallett and Pearl Quave Mallett; his sister, Ruth Wilson; and his brothers, Dennis Mallett, Roy Mallett, George Mallett, Bruner Mallett, Jesse Mallett, and Ottman Mallett.
He is survived by his daughter, Rose Stanton, and her husband, John, of Las Vegas, NV; his grandchildren, John T. Stanton, Laura M. Hendershot and her husband, Matt, and Michelle R. Stanton; ten great grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A veteran of WWII, he retired as assistant chief of the Gulfport Fire Department and again as Director of Parks and Recreation for the city of Gulfport.
The visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 13, 2008 from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM at the RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11280 3 Rivers Rd, Gulfport. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 14, 2008 at 10:00 AM at the funeral home chapel. A funeral service will held on Thursday at 3:00 PM at the Ramsey Creek Baptist Church where friends may visit from 1:00 PM until service time. Burial will follow at Mallett Cemetery.
