Hien Quang Ngyuen

Hien Quang Nguyen, a dedicated and vibrant member of the Vietnamese community, passed away on March 21, 2025, at the age of 67. Born on January 10, 1958, in Phan Thiet, Vietnam, Hien was a proud graduate of high school in Vietnam before embarking on a successful career as a self-employed real estate investor.

Throughout his life, Hien was known for his unyielding spirit and commitment to his family and community. He was an integral part of the Vietnamese community in Pass Christian and Long Beach, where he served as both Secretary and Treasurer at the Vietnamese Community of Holy Family Parish in Pass Christian, Mississippi. His efforts in fundraising for the church highlighted his dedication to supporting his community, and he will be remembered for the passion he brought to these roles.

Hien's love for family was evident in all that he did. He is survived by his devoted wife of 42 years, Nguyen Thi Hong Phuong, and their three children: Nguyen Quang Huy Paul, Nguyen Hoand Linh Tony (Taylor), and Nguyen Quang Kenny (Ellen), all of whom reside in California. Hien treasured his time with his grandchildren—Jaidon Nguyen, Ava Mendoza Nguyen, Theo Nguyen, Zeke Nguyen, Tyler Nguyen, and Penelope Nguyen—often finding joy in singing karaoke, cooking for loved ones, traveling, and working on his property. He believed in staying busy and learning from every experience.

Hien was also cherished by his siblings, Nguyen Hoang Long, Nguyen Van Tri, Nguyen Huu Ly, Nguyen Trong Hoang, Nguyen Trong Thien, and Nguyen Thi Hoa, who shared in both his triumphs and tribulations. He held a special place in the hearts of his family, including his mother-in-law, Nguyen Thi Chinh, and many other in-laws.

He was preceded in death by his father, Nguyen Quang Anh, and his mother, Nguyen Thi Lon. Hien's legacy will live on through the countless lives he touched, the love he shared with his family, and the contributions he made to his community. He will be deeply missed, but his memory will remain a guiding light for those who knew him.

Thursday, March 27, 2025 a visitation for family will be held from 3:30-4:30 PM, at Riemann Family Funeral Home, 9113 Kiln DeLisle Road, Pass Christian. A procession will leave the funeral home at 4:35pm for Mass of Christian Burial at Holy Family Catholic Church at 5:00 PM. After Mass there will be a visitation from 8:00-10:00 PM back at the funeral home in Pass Christian on Kiln DeLisle Road.

Friday, March 28, 2025 a visitation for family will be held from 3:30-4:30 PM, at Riemann Family Funeral Home, 19130 Commission Road, Long Beach. A celebratory Mass will start at 5:00 PM, at St. Paul Chapel in Pass Christian. Following Mass there will be a visitation from 7:00-9:00 PM, back at the funeral home in Long Beach on Commission Road.

Saturday, March 29, 2025 a Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:00 AM at Holy Family Catholic Church, 22342 Evangeline Rd, Pass Christian, MS.
