Hester Lizana

Hester Lizana, age 75, of Pass Christian, MS, saved on Monday, January 8, 2007, went to be with the Lord on October 10, 2007 in Pass Christian.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Adolph Lizana and Evelyn Necaise Lizana; five brothers, Edward, Alphonse, Elder, Harold, and Ralph Lizana; two sisters, Margarite Papineau and Josephine Lizana; a son, Alexander Lizana; and a daughter, Carrie Lizana.
Mr. Lizana is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Jacqueline (Jackie) T. Lizana of Pass Christian; six children, Godtfried Lizana and his wife, Schlissa, Hester Lizana, Jr and his wife, Sherri, Emile 'Alex' Lizana and his wife, Wendy, and Rita Lizana, all of Pass Christian, Carolyn Daugherty of Saucier, and Janice Morton of Gulfport; a sister, Agnes Hudson and her husband, Ron, of Saucier; four brothers, Herman Lizana and his wife, Daisey, of Collins, MS, Thomas Lizana and his wife, Marlese, of Huntsville, AL, Gary Lizana and his wife, Betty, of Thornton, CO, and Howard Lizana and his wife, Sheila, of Gulfport; sisters-in law, Margaret Wise, Hilda Lizana and Nancy Lizana; sixteen grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; a special niece, Denise Miller; a good friend, Hilda Hayden who he teased about ringing his doorbell; good friend Ann Lizana, and a special pet, Tripper.
Hester was born on December 6, 1931 in Pineville, MS. His first job was at Gulfport Laundry in 1947. He then worked for Warren Lasere and Will DeRise to later retire from Rittner Engineering Company. He was an avid fisherman and jack of all trades, building his home from the ground up, and was known for making the best gumbo on the Coast. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends, especially Mrs. Virginia Bazzell whom he shared morning coffee with and Mr. Tom Isaac. Mr. Lizana served in the US 31st Infantry Dixie Division National Guard from 1953 - 1956.
A Visitation will be held on Monday, October 15, 2007 from 6:00 PM until 10:00 PM and on Tuesday, October 16, 2007 from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM at the RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 9113 Kiln - Delisle Rd Chapel. A funeral procession will leave the funeral home at 11:00 AM for the funeral service at the First Baptist Church of Delisle at 11:30 AM. Burial will follow at New Delisle Cemetery. Pall bearers are Alex Lizana, Godtfried Lizana, Hester Lizana, Jr., Ron Hudson, Tommy Lizana and Herman Lizana.
