Herman J. Necaise, age 78, died Tuesday, June 22, 2010, peacefully at home with his family by his side.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Flora Lee Necaise, his parents, Wilton and Rosella Necaise, a sister, Ulla Necaise, a brother, James Necaise, and a great-granddaughter, Chelsey Cole.
Survivors include his children: Dot Necaise, Erma (Norman) Archer, Buddy (Deanna) Necaise, Thurman (Rhonda) Necaise, and Mike (Ruth) Necaise, a granddaughter Hope Cole who he raised like his own, 8 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild on the way, his sisters, Lillie Mae Necaise, Eunice Ladner, Virgie Harbin, Gladys Ladner, Louise Necaise, and Emma Roberds, his brothers, Clarence Necaise, Harold Necaise, and David Necaise.
Herman loved talking to anyone about the old days and old ways of living. He loved teaching his family to can vegetables because it brought him great joy to see food in a jar. He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandkids.
Visitation will be Thursday from 6 - 9 pm at the RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 9113 Kiln DeLisle Road. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am Friday at St. Matthew Catholic Church in White Cypress. Friends may visit at the church from 9 am until 10 am. Interment will be in Standard Sandhill Cemetery.
The Necaise family would like to thank Dr. Bert Chevis, Dr. Allison Wall, Dr. David Rimmer, Dr. Jay Libby, and Dr. Mei Chang Cheng and all their staff for their special care. Thank you to the nurses at Hancock Medical Center for their constant care and kindness. Also, to Mississippi Home Health and St. Joseph Hospice for their guidance and support in his last days.
A very special thank you to Ruth Necaise for all your love and support over the last few weeks and last hours. If not for you holding us together we would not have made it. You are deeply loved and appreciated.
