Herlihy John Morere passed away Thanksgiving Day, November 26, 2009, in Pensacola, Florida.
Mr. Morere was a graduate of St. Stanislaus College in Bay St. Louis, the Curtis-Wright Technical Institute, where he earned a degree in Aeronautical Engineering, and the University of Alabama, with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He left a job with Howard Hughs, designing fighter planes, in 1944 to become a pilot in the Army Air Corps where he flew B17s in 35 missions over Europe. On returning from the service he attended the University of Alabama. After graduation, he went to work for Mobil and remained with them until his retirement in 1980.
Mr. Morere was preceded in death by his wife, Mary, and is survived by his wife, Pat; his sisters, Nola Lambing and Marcelle Southerlin, both of Gulfport; four children; five grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at 3:00 PM on Sunday, December 20, 2009, at Bayou Coco Cemetery in the Kiln, Mississippi.
