Herbert Curtis "Buck" Zengarling Jr.

Herbert Curtis “Buck” Zengarling, age 72, passed away peacefully on May 25, 2024, with his daughter and son by his side.

His greatest joy in life was his children and grandchildren.  Buck was preceded in death by his parents Bully and Mittie Zengarling; sisters Terri Zengarling and Alice Z. Ladner; and his wife Sheryl Zengarling.

Buck was a proud veteran of the Army National Guard.  He retired as a detective from the New Orleans Police Department.  

Buck is survived by his daughter Dawn (Toya) Borrego; son Jason Zengarling; sisters Joyce (Don) Moran and Lisa (Jeff) Hinson; grandchildren Joelle Zengarling, James (Lauren) Alphonso III, Macy Zengarling, and Bowen Zengarling; the mother of his children Pam Zengarling; mother-in-law Earline “Miss Sue” Vazquez; brothers-in-law Clement Ladner and Mike Lee; sister-in-law Jerri Lynn (Jerry) Rayes; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

The family would like to extend a special heartfelt thank you to Jessica Morris, Peyton Lee, Sheri Massa, and Robin Fricke for all their care and help with Buck.  

A private graveside service will be held later at Biloxi National Cemetery.
