Herbert Steube, Jr.

Herbert Steube, Jr., age 68, of Gulfport, MS passed away on Friday May 20, 2022, at Passages hospice in New Orleans, Louisiana after a long battle with his health.

Herbert is preceded in death by his parents, Herbert, Sr., and Ava Steube, of Pass Christian, MS; and a daughter, Christina Steube of Pass Christian, MS.

He is survived by a wife, Tina Steube of Gulfport, MS; his children, Christopher Steube (Rachel) of Pass Christian, MS, Joshua Steube (Ashley) of Pass Christian, MS, Mary Ann Steube Smith of Gulfport, MS; his siblings, Gloria Steube Hough (Doug) of Gulfport, MS, Mary Steube Lane of Hillsboro, Oregon, Brenda Steube of Diamondhead, MS, Sheila Steube Jones (Hardin) of Pass Christian, MS; 11 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild, numerous nieces and nephews.

He was a member of Bel Aire Baptist Church. He attended school in Pass Christian and Gulfport, MS.  He worked offshore in Louisiana, for Gulfport Port Authority and Harrison County Sheriff Department.  He loved fishing, boating, and his pet dogs. He loved his family, Jesus, and Alan Jackson gospel music. He never took NO for an answer.  He would find a way even when it was maybe not the best way to go. He had a compassionate heart because he had a dear friend that was down on his luck and Herbie would give the family money by hiring them to work on his house and give them things to help them even though he needed things himself.  He showed love for his country and would fly the American flag and the state flag high on a pole in the yard.

Visitation will be held at Riemann Family Funeral Home, 11280 Three Rivers Road, Gulfport, MS 39503, Saturday, June 4, 2022, at 1:00pm until Memorial Service at 3:00pm.
