Henry ""Pat"" Payne Shavers, age 76 and a resident of Saucier, died on Saturday, February 5, 2011, in Gulfport.
Mr. Shavers was a native and lifelong resident of Saucier. He served in the US Navy for ten years. He was a devoted husband and father.
Mr. Shavers is preceded in death by his son, Tim Shavers; his parents, David & Virgie Shavers; seven brothers, one sister, and two great grandchildren.
He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 57 years, Shirley Redmond Shavers of Saucier; his daughters, Shirley (Paul) Lord and Cynthia (Melvin) Hickman of Saucier; his sons, Allen (Robin) Shavers of Russellville, AR, Bryan (Denise) Shavers of Saucier, Mike (Christine) Shavers of Hancock County, and Steve (Patty) Shavers of Saucier; 13 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Tuesday, February 8, 2011, at 11am at the Riemann Family Funeral Home, 11280 Three Rivers Road in Gulfport, where friends may visit thirty minutes prior to the service. Burial will follow at Rouse Cemetery in Saucier.
The family would like to extend a very special thank you to Dr. Pande and Odyssey Hospice at Memorial Hospital.
