Mr. Henry J. ""Hank"" Rodrique, age 85, of Doss, TX, formerlly of Pass Christian, died Saturday, November 27, 2010 in Fredericksburg, TX.
Mr. Rodrique was a native of Port Arthur, TX and was a Magna Cum Laude graduate of the Univ. of Texas with a BS degree in Mechanical Engineering. He served his country in WWII as an Army Air Corps Pilot in the once secret Pinball program where U.S. Aircraft gunners honed their offensive skills against his aircraft. He retired from General Electric after 27 years of distinguished service. He served as a city councilman in Pass Christian from 1977 - 1981 and was a member, past president, and served as King Christian XXXIV in 1967 for St. Paul's Carnival Association and also served as president of the St. Paul's Parish Council.
He was preceded in death by his previous wife of 49 years, Sally Runte Rodrique; his parents, Henry J. Rodrigue, Sr. and Pauline Besse Rodrigue, 2 sisters, Margie Rodrigue Verrett Gentil and Olga Mae Rodrigue Iles, and an infant brother Marion Rodrigue.
Survivors include his wife of 9 years, Erbel Rodrique, Doss, TX, 2 daughters, Gail Rodrique Herbert and her husband Arthur J. Herbert, III, and Penny Rodrique and her husband Dr. Lawrence N. Strout, all of Pass Christian, a son, James Scott Rodrique, Cottonport, LA, 3 grandchildren, Arthur John Herbert, IV, Birmingham, AL, Jason Alan Herbert, Roanoke, VA, and Nicole Vincent Jordan and her husband David Jordan, Chapel Hill, NC, and his great-granddaughter, Ashton Cecelia Herbert, Starkville, MS.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 am Saturday, December 4, 2010 at Holy Family Parish, Menge Ave., Pass Christian. A rosary will be said at 9:30 am and visititaion is from 10 - 11 am. Interment will be in Live Oak Cemetery.
