Mr. Henry Edgar """"Hank"""" Hammons, age 91, resident of Long Beach, passed away on Tuesday, June 23, 2009.
Mr. Hammons was born and raised on the Gulf Coast and was a painting contractor. He was of the Baptist faith. He loved spending time with family, especially his grandchildren. He played the guitar and sang for his family and many friends, including those at local nursing homes.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Willis and Lucy Conn Hammons; a son, Henry Aaron """"Butch"""" Hammons; daughter-in-law, Ann Hammons; grandson, Donnie Hammons, Jr; three sisters, Vester Young, Daisy Gilley, Minnie Ladner; two brothers, Robert Hammons and Leslie Hammons.
He is survived by his loving wife of 73 years, Juanita Allen Hammons; children, Donald Hammons, Sr. of Long Beach, Ronald Hammons and his wife Geraldine of Long Beach, and Lynn Hammons of Biloxi; grandchildren, Terry Hammons, Sue Hammons, Lindy Hammons, Kelli Hammons-Jones, Steven Hammons, Keith Hammons, Ronald Hammons, Jr., Randy Hammons, Rusty Hammons, Angela Carter, and Timmy Hammons; 26 great grandchildren and several great great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 24, 2009, at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, Commission Road, Long Beach, where friends may visit from 5-8 p.m.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 25, 2009, at 10 a.m. in the funeral home chapel, and friends may visit from 9-10 a.m. Burial will be in Allen Cemetery.
