Henry L. Blount, age 77, of Diamondhead, passed away on June 2, 2011, after a lengthy battle with cancer.
Mr. Blount was born June 20, 1933. He was the middle of three brothers. He graduated from Hattiesburg High School in 1951. He served his country in the U.S. Army from 1952-1955, during the Korean War. Mr. Blount worked for WFOR, AP & UPI in Sales and Advertising, for a period of time he was a Lobbyist in Jackson and he retired from the MS Malt Beverage Association. He was an avid golfer and spent many of his younger years coaching/ instructing in junior golf leagues.
Mr. Blount was preceded in death by his parents, Forest N. Blount, Sr. and Annie Rose Orourke Blount; his brother, Forest N. Blount, Jr.; and his grandparents, Michael and Lena Orourke.
He is survived by his brother, James T. (Mary) Blount of Waveland; sister-in-law, Beverly S. Blount of Leesville, LA; nephew, James T. Blount, Jr. of Waveland; niece, Cynthia (Gerald) King of Biloxi; and numerous other relatives and many friends.
Private services will be held for Mr. Blount.
