Henrietta Minor Click

Henrietta Minor Click, a respected member of her community and devoted matriarch, passed away on January 9, 2025, at St. Joseph Hospice in Gulfport, Mississippi, at the age of 91. Born on June 27, 1933, in Macon, Georgia, she was a focused problem-solver and creative go-getter throughout her life.

Henrietta dedicated over 27 years to her career as the head cashier and payroll clerk at Dillard's Department Store, formerly known as Gayfers, in Biloxi. She was deeply committed to her work, exemplifying diligence and integrity in all she did. Henrietta graduated with honors from A.L. Miller High School in Macon in 1951, and she furthered her education by studying Accounting and Computers at the University of Southern Mississippi. Her passion for knowledge and service shaped not only her career but also her character.

A woman of remarkable spirit, Henrietta loved sewing, crafting, genealogy, traveling, and shopping. She had a special affection for her many beloved cats. Her colorful personality and artistic flair were evident, especially through her active celebration of Mardi Gras and Christmas. Her homes in Biloxi and then in Gulfport became renowned for their Christmas decorations. As a longtime member of Handsboro Baptist Church and later, Bayou View Baptist Church, Henrietta found great comfort and fellowship among her church family.

Henrietta’s legacy is highlighted by her role as a founding member of Make-A-Wish of Mississippi, a cause she passionately supported following the loss of her grandchild to Wilms tumor. She lived her life with a giving heart, and her final wish to donate her body to science underscores her commitment to benefiting others even after her passing. Her earthly remains have been entrusted to Genesis in Memphis, Tennessee, where she will continue to leave a legacy of service.

Henrietta is survived by her children, Patrick R. Sullivan (Jonelle), Ginny C. Russum (Rusty), and Patty C. Ford (Patrick). She was a proud grandmother to her grandchildren and their spouses: Brian Sullivan (Mary Katharine), Scott Sullivan (Amanda), Victoria Murphy (Evan), Meredith Kadjan (Alex), Jennifer MacKenzie (Gary), Gerry Williams (Kim), Angela Cutrer (Chris), and Jamie Fredrickson (Andy). Henrietta also cherished her great-grandchildren, John Patrick Sullivan, Hinton Sullivan, Luke Sullivan, James Sullivan, Julia Kadjan, Henry Kadjan, Mitchell MacKenzie, Stephan MacKenzie, Kealey Williams, Hayden Williams, Rowan Cutrer (Lance Satterfield), Logan Cutrer, Talon Cutrer, and Tyler Fredrickson, as well as her great-great-grandchild, Raven Satterfield.

She was preceded in death by her devoted husband of 32 years, Neil Vincent Click, her father, Carl Watson Minor, her mother, Eunice Kenyon Minor, her sisters, Gwendolyn Minor Gentry and Juanita Minor Brooks, and her granddaughter, Amy Leigh Adam.

The family expresses immense gratitude to April Hudson and her caretakers at April’s Place for the care and kindness they extended to Henrietta in her final years. They also wish to thank the compassionate nurses and staff at Homedica and St. Joseph’s Hospice for their unwavering support during her passing.

Henrietta Minor Click will be remembered not only for her accomplishments and contributions but also for the loving passion she brought to all who were fortunate enough to know her. Her spirit lives on in the hearts of her family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to Make-A-Wish of MS, 607 Highland Colony Pkwy, Suite 100, Ridgeland, MS 39157, or to the American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 7023, Merrifield, VA 22116-7023.
