Helene Adams, age 77, went to heaven on Saturday, May 22, 2010 at her home in Waveland after a courageous battle with cancer.
Mrs. Adams was born on December 16, 1932 to Frank """"Daddy Doc"""" and Helen """"Hennen"""" Dougherty in McKeesport, PA. She has been a resident of Waveland since 1963.
She enjoyed her job managing the Diamondhead Yacht Club, where she worked for over 15 years. She loved the staff and club members and she made many life-long friendships. She never met a stranger and loved everyone she met.
She loved to travel and spend time with family and friends. She was self-less and had a contagious smile and an infectious sense of humor. She loved life and was grateful to God for all His many blessings.
Helene had much wisdom to share with her loved ones. She was a devoted and wonderful mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Her last wishes were for each to celebrate her life and not to be saddened but to be happy for her to be united with her Lord and loved ones.
She was of the Catholic faith and was a member of St. Clare Catholic Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Drew, Jack and Tommy Dougherty; sister, Trudy Lou Dougherty; husband, George H. Adams; and grandson, Terry Larntz.
Survivors include her 7 children, Roxanne (Curtis) Colson, George Adams, Dianne (Rocky) Pagano, Suzanne (Ronnie) Larntz, Maryanne (Ross) Maurigi, Lianne (Chris) Sand and Douglas (Dianne) Adams; her 16 grandchildren; her 22 great-grandchildren; her beloved cat, """"Baby Boy;"""" and many other family members.
She was adored and loved by all whom knew her and she will be greatly missed by all of her family and friends.
