Helen Gray Ross, age 92 and a resident of Gulfport, died on Saturday, March 6, 2010, in Gulfport.
Mrs. Ross was a native and lifelong resident of Gulfport. She was a graduate of Gulfport High School and Perkinston Junior College. She was retired from Bellsouth, with over 30 years of service, was a member of St. James Catholic Church, and was an avid golfer.
Mrs. Ross is preceded in death by her parents, Andrew, Sr. & Alice Hilands Gray; her husband, George R. Ross; her brother, Andrew Gray, Jr., and her sisters, Elizabeth Thrasher, Margaret Gordin, and Alice Logel.
She is survived by her daughters, Sandra Perry and Betsy Hoffman, both of Gulfport; her grandchildren, John (Luda) Hoffman, Pamela (Hube) Parker, Michael (Brooke) Hoffman, Callen (William) Weatherly, Kathy (Glen) Mathers, and Elizabeth (Justin) Massey and 15 great grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, March 9, 2010, at 11:00 a.m. at St. James Catholic Church, where friends may visit one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Floral Hills Cemetery.
The family requests that memorial contributions be made to Canon Hospice, 1520 Broad Avenue, Gulfport, MS 39501.
