Helen Josephine Peterson Necaise, age 85, of the Dedeaux Community, passed away on September 3, 2024.
She is preceded in death by her husband, John I. Necaise; parents, Sullivan Joseph Peterson and Mary Panola Ladner Peterson; her brothers, Provis Peterson, Joe Pete Peterson, Irvin Peterson, and Houston Peterson; her sisters, Jewell Perrone and Loretta Ladner; daughter, Connie Parrish; granddaughter, Britani Ladner, and one infant great-grandchild.
Helen is survived by her children, Debra (Hermie) Ladner, Delaine (Kim) Ladner, Danny Ray Necaise, and Sylvia Lynn Martinez; sister, Betty Necaise; and brother Vermon Peterson; her grandchildren, Chad Parrish, Kimmy Ladner, Jill Ladner, Alissa Pullen, Brandi Knight, Danny Ray Necaise, Jr., Philman Ladner, Ashley Archer, Amanda Stephenson, Dreisson Necaise, Myles Ladner, and Keatyn Ladner; 28 great-grandchildren; and one great great-grandchild, Adley.
Helen was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Above all else she loved her family fiercely and unconditionally. She was a faithful servant to her Lord and Savior as well as an active member of Sacred Heart Dedeaux Parish. She was known for praying the Rosary daily, loud and clear. Helen enjoyed cheering on her grandchildren and great-grandchildren at sporting events; she was their number one fan.
Helen loved to have her hair done on Saturday mornings as well as her nails painted various reds and pinks. She loved to be surrounded by her family and friends especially her favorite person, her caregiver, Mrs. T. Helen lived a life of joy; full of music, community and faith.
The family would like to extend sincere gratitude to Mrs. T for her kindness and compassion to Helen.
Visitation will be on Saturday, September 7, 2024, from 10 am - 12 noon at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Dedeaux. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12 noon in the church. Interment will be in Alphonse Malley Memorial Cemetery.
