Helen Louise Hatten, passed away July 19, 2012 in Gulfport at the age of 88.
She has been a resident of the Driftwood Nursing Home in Gulfport for many years. Prior to moving into the nursing home, she was a former member of Leggett Memorial United Methodist Church and Burton Memorial United Methodist Church. She was also the chaplain and a life member of Chapter 51 Order of the Eastern Star. Other organizations she was involved in were the Ladies Auxiliary of WWI Veterans and the Daughters of the Confederacy.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Chevis, Sr. and Callie Hatten; and her niece, Tara Ruth Hatten.
Survivors include her brother, Chevis Hatten, Jr. and wife Ruth of Gulfport; nephews, Chevis Hatten, III and wife Rachel of Gulfport, and Barry Neil Hatten and wife Angel of Ocean Springs; niece, Tasha Renee Hatten of North Carolina; four great nephews; two great nieces; and two great great nieces.
The funeral service will be held at 10:00 am, July 23, 2012 at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11280 Three Rivers Road, Gulfport. Visitation will be held from 9:00 to 10:00 am at the funeral home. Burial will follow the service at Coalville Cemetery.
