Helen Frances Ladner, age 73, passed away unexpectedly at Kingwood Medical Center in Kingwood, TX, on Thursday, February 13, 2020.
She was born on January 6, 1947 in Lynn, Massachusetts to Joan I. Wood and George E. Garneau, Sr. Helen married Elder James Ladner II, in Pass Christian, MS, after moving to South Mississippi.
Helen was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Elder James “EJ” Ladner; her granddaughter, Kayla Cordelia Ladner; and her brothers, George E. Garneau, Jr. and Carl Joseph Garneau.
She is survived by her son, Stephen Ladner (Blanca); her grandchildren, Jessica Hernandez, Janette Hernandez, and Fernando Elizondo; her siblings, Derry Smith (Henry) and Robert Garneau; her sister-in-law, Judy K. Ladner; her nieces and nephews, Patricia “Missy” Dubuisson, Christina and Jennifer Garneau, Joseph and Kelly DeMarce, George Jr, Gregory, Guy Garneau, Carl Garneau, Jr., and Julie Hogan; and many other extended family and friends.
Helen enjoyed crocheting, religious music, painting, arts and crafts, and casinos.
She had unique words of wisdom to everyone she met. She never knew a stranger. When she said, “I Love You”, she meant it.
A visitation will be held from 9:00 AM until 10:00 AM, on Tuesday, February 18, 2020, at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11280 Three Rivers Road, Gulfport. The procession will leave at 10:10 AM going to St. Joseph at Rotten Bayou Cemetery for a Graveside Service at 11:00 AM.
