Helen Byars, age 91, passed away on Sunday, September 2, 2018 in her home in Gulfport, MS peacefully in her sleep.
She leaves behind her husband of 71 years, Jack Byars; brother, Harold Cain and wife Donna Mae of Progreso Lake, TX; three sons and two daughters; Larry Byars and wife Jane of Knoxville, TN, Karl Byars and wife Sara of Milton, FL, Lannie Byars and wife Shawn of Philadelphia, MS, Angela and Laura Byars of Gulfport, MS; 13 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
She was born in Pine Bluff, AK and she moved to Pascagoula as a young girl, where she graduated high school and worked as a telephone operator until her marriage. Throughout their 71 years together they moved often but always considered Philadelphia home. She was an amazing wife, mother, and friend.
A memorial services to be announced at a late date.
