Helen Ladner

d. August 29, 2020

Vancleave

Helen Brogdon Ladner of Vancleave, MS, was welcomed at the gates of Heaven on August 29, 2020 at the age of 95 years old by her loving savior Jesus Christ, her loving husband of over 73 years, T.N. Ladner: and infant son: her parents, G.T. and Frances Brogdon (of the Dedeaux Community in Hancock Co.); and her siblings, brother, Laverne Brogdon and her sister Hilda Bennett. What a glorious reunion that must have been.

Left behind to cherish the wonderful memories of having her mother with her for so long is Helen’s daughter, Bonnie Lou Merrell of Vancleave, MS. She also leaves behind to cherish memories, siblings, Otis (Bud) Brogdon; and sister’s Bobbie Bowman and Nell Koenenn; her grandchildren, John Aaron Lock and Jeffrey Lee (Missy) Lock; six great grandchildren, Madison Lock, Robert Lock, Carson Lock, Miranda Lock, Samantha Lock, and Sarah Lock; numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Helen was a native of the Dedeaux community in Hancock County, where she graduated from Dedeaux High School. She soon married the love of her life T.N. in 1942, and they moved the family to Vancleave in the mid 1970’s.

She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Stars # 300 in Vancleave, a member of the Garden Club in both Vancleave and Gautier. She loved planting flowers, crocheting, embroidering, working on plastic canvases and reading. But mostly loved her family and loved her Lord.

The family would like to thank the nurses and caregivers at Ocean Springs Rehab, for taking such good care of Helen the past seven years that she lived there at the center. We would also like to thank Kindred Hospice for the loving care and kindness given to her this past year.

A visitation for family and friends will be held on Saturday, September 5, 2020 from 10:00 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. service at First Baptist Church of Vancleave, with Reverend Randy McKee and Rev. Brent Parker officiating. Mask must be worn and social distancing rules adhered too. Interment will be at Evergreen Cemetery in Gulfport, MS.
