Helen Barnes

Helen Rose Barnes, age 79, of Diamondhead passed away on June 26, 2023.

She was retired, a dedicated volunteer of the USO and VA , and incredibly proud to have held numerous officer positions including this year’s 2^nd Vice President of American Legion Auxiliary Unit 139.

Helen was preceded in death by her parents, Helen and Robert Reid, and Joseph John Ochs; and a brother Joe Ochs.

Survivors include her brother, Robert Ochs; children, Lori Chrisman (Mark), Michele O’Hern (Tim), John Walsh, and Timothy Barnes; grandchildren, Ashley Chrisman (Laszlo),Stephanie Walsh, Joshua Chrisman (Christy), Nicole Walsh, Patricia Caffrey and Brenden Masur; 4 great-grandchildren; 2 nephews, a niece, 3 great-nephews, and 2 great-nieces.  

Visitation will be at the Riemann Family Funeral Home, 19130 Commission RD, Long Beach MS 39560 from 5:00 pm to 6:00 pm on Friday July 21, 2023. The funeral service will be at 6:00 pm in the funeral home chapel.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to The Disabled American Veterans (DAV). Or American Legion Auxiliary, PO Box 3182, Bay St Louis MS 39521.
