Hayward ""Bootsie"" Cuevas, age 69, of the Dedeaux Community, passed away on May 18, 2012.
He was a retired heavy equipment operator and enjoyed cooking, farming, hunting, fishing, spending time with family and friends, music and western movies. He was a mentor to many in the community and was a member of Pearlington Masonic Lodge.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Horace ""Bud"" Cuevas and Mae Deschamp Cuevas Martin, a sister, Ruby Kowalski, 2 brothers, Roy Lee Cuevas, and Jimmy Dale Cuevas.
Survivors include his former spouse, Julia Cuevas, his children, Rhonda (Duane) Ladner, Hayward (Michelle) Cuevas, Bridget (Lewis) Lamastus, 7 grandchildren, Richard and LeAnn Ladner, Rani and Hayley Cuevas, Trey and Brianne Lamastus, and James Hamann, 2 great-grandchildren, Madison Ladner and Caden Olivier, a sister, Eula Mae Ladner, 2 brothers, E.J. Martin and Bruce Martin, and numerous nieces and nephews, and other relatives.
Visitation will be Sunday, May 20, 2012 from 12 - 2 pm at the RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 9113 Kiln DeLisle Rd. The funeral service will be held at 2 pm in the funeral home chapel.
